Why Thailand is the Ultimate Honeymoon Destination

With its vast natural resource and innately beautiful landscapes, the Southeast Asian country of Thailand has been one of the most famous tourist destinations in the world. Even way back when it was still known as Siam, travelers from all over used to come here for a unique experience in culture, cuisine and sights. It is no surprise that honeymooners too choose to spend their first nights together as husband and wife to see amazing Thailand.

Why Thailand?

Thailand is a developed nation bustling with commerce and activity. The good thing about them is that they keep their religion and ancient customs intact while welcoming modern technology. Tourists enjoy five star hotel accommodations, modern amenities, warm hospitality and unending entertainment. There are also great beaches too. Thailand, has in fact, been the location of many Hollywood films. The Leonardo de Caprio classic  “The Beach” was filmed in Thailand and so was a recent James Bond film.

To encourage honeyteering as well as enticing more tourists to visit Thailand, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) recently started an ambitious social media project and has tied up with Thai Airways and more than 20 popular honeymoon hotels.  The contest will run until the 10th of May 2014 and is open to couples who want to experience a unique Honeyteering experience with the love of their life.

The prize is a seven-day honeyteering trip to Thailand that combines luxury, romance and the spirit of volunteerism. According to the Tourism Authority of Thailand Deputy Governor for Marketing Communications Mr. Sugree Sithivanich a honeyteering adventure can offer a couple on their honeymoon a travel experience that is both memorable and rewarding. This is why he said, honeyteers continue to flock to the country to start their married life or to celebrate their anniversaries.

Incidentally, wedding and honeymoons are one of the four key customer segments that the TAT is setting their eyes on as part of their marketing efforts for the year 2014. The Honeyteering contest is in line with the “Thainess” marketing plan that makes use of different social media avenues to promote tourism in Thailand. It can be recalled that on January 9, 2014, the popular website ranked Thailand as the fifth best Honeymoon Destinations for 2014 all over the world.
